As caregivers of someone with a disability, we sometimes feel as if the whole world is against us. It’s hard to shop. It’s hard to go to a restaurant as a family. It’s even hard, if not impossible, to go to church. We desperately need someone to help us and to change things. To find that person we need to look no further than the bathroom mirror.
We can become champions for faith and family even in the midst of disability. We have to understand the margins of life in which we’re confined. From there we can push and widen those margins with the ultimate goal of our community adjusting those margins to make life easier and more fulfilling for all.
And we’ll figure out how to do it with grace!
